A Guide to Film Music

YR4 – YR12

The Music of Joe Hisaishi

Join WASO as we delve into the music of one of the world’s greatest film composers, Joe Hisaishi, the man behind the soundtracks to some of Studio Ghibli’s most beloved films including Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and more.

Led by conductor Nicholas Buc, with commentary by Dan Golding and Andrew Pogson from the popular Art of the Score podcast, this immersive, screen-free concert experience is designed to give your students greater insight into how music aids storytelling in film.

This is the perfect excursion for music, film, and Japanese language students.
