WASO’s 2026 Education Program offers a rich variety of engaging learning experiences for students of all ages and skill levels.
In 2026, your students can experience the full power of a symphony orchestra at one of our evening concerts, take a peek behind the curtain at an open rehearsal, or discover more about the music from some of their favourite anime films at our matinee performance.
Our NextGen: Explore ATAR & More concert returns in 2026 to support secondary students in their studies, providing detailed discussion and analysis of the ATAR set works to strengthen their understanding and confidence.
We are also delighted to continue our school incursions for primary students, bringing the Orchestra into classrooms to spark curiosity and nurture a lifelong love of music.

A Guide to Film Music: The Music of Joe Hisaishi
Join WASO as we delve into the music of one of the world’s greatest film composers, Joe Hisaishi, the man behind the soundtracks to some of Studio Ghibli’s most beloved films including Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and more.
Suitable for Year 4 – Year 12 students.
Libby Meets the Orchestra
Perth’s leading jazz vocalist, Libby Hammer, and WASO’s 10-piece Education Chamber Orchestra are bringing a fun and engaging primary school incursion your way. With a mix of familiar classics and contemporary genres, this performance will explore important composers, how music is made, and what it takes to be a musician.
Suitable for K – Year 6 students.
Open Rehearsals
Join WASO as we throw open the doors, inviting students to join the Orchestra at rehearsal. An optional pre-rehearsal talk provides an overview of the works and the musicians’ experience preparing for a rehearsal and performance.
Suitable for Year 5 – Year 12 students.
