Alexander SCRIABIN The Poem of Ecstasy

Rod McGrath cello

From playful pranksters to misadventures of the heart, this concert showcases WASO’s brilliant virtuosity and its immensely talented musicians.

Brahms’ magisterial double concerto weaves the solo violin and cello into a burnished unity. At the peak of their powers, WASO’s Concertmaster and Principal Cello are the perfect duo to perform Brahms’ beautiful ode to friendship. This evening to relish is filled with magical musical hijinks from Strauss, glorious drama from Weber, and concludes with the intoxicating, ecstatic mysticism of Scriabin.
