Sunmi Jung
Violin
Sunmi joined WASO in 2017.
Sunmi Jung was born in Korea, where she graduated with a Bachelor degree from Yonsei University. Her post-graduate studies continued in Germany, where she completed Diploma and Konzertexamen and Chamber music degree with professor Andreas Krecher in Duesseldorf.
Sunmi previously worked in Duisburger Philharmoniker, Bielefeld Philharmoniker and Beethoven Orchester in Bonn, Germany as a contract violinist. She moved to Perth upon getting married and has worked with WASO since 2012, joining as a permanent member of the violin section in 2017.
She has played as a guest concertmaster in Fremantle Chamber Orchestra. And also she is the leader of the Florentine string quartet.
