Kylie was born in Perth and started learning the violin at the age of 9. In 2004 she moved to Melbourne to study as a full scholarship student at the Australian National Academy of Music.
She then moved to Sydney where she completed a Master of Music Studies with Alice Waten at the University of Sydney, and was awarded the Henderson Postgraduate Coursework Scholarship, the Kathleen and Allison Short Scholarship and the prestigious Margaret Henderson Scholarship for overseas travel.
During her years as a student Kylie participated in the Accademia Chigiana Musicale Summer Music Course in Siena, Italy, studying with Boris Belkin, and also in chamber music studies with Bruno Canino at the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove in Cornwall, England. Kylie also spent a year in Vienna, Austria for Master Studies at Konservatorium Wien.
Kylie has been the winner of the Geelong Advertiser Music Scholarship and the National Open Concerto Competition in Fremantle, receiving the Gascoigne Silver Jubilee Award. As soloist she has performed with the Geelong Philharmonic Orchestra, the Melbourne Youth Orchestra, and the Fremantle Symphony Orchestra. In 2008, she appeared as soloist with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra leading Vivaldi’s Four Seasons in Sydney, and in 2012 she appeared as soloist with the Fremantle Chamber Orchestra in the Diamond Jubilee Celebration Concert.
Kylie has guested with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of India, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Singapore Symphony.
