Please note: The Perth Cultural Centre is currently undergoing a major rejuvenation project, with construction works affecting access to the venue. We recommend arriving early to allow for any delays while making your way to the theatre. For more information, click here.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The State Theatre Centre of WA is located across the road from Perth Station and Perth Busport, making public transport a great option for travelling to and from the theatre. Due to the Perth Cultural Centre rejuvenation project, the best way to access the venue from Perth Station is via Yagan Square.

PARKING

There are several car parks with accessible parking bays that are only a short walk away from the State Theatre Centre. These include: 

  • City of Perth Parking – State Library Car Park: This is a 24-hour undercover car park with access from Francis St. There are seven ACROD bays, two at basement level and five on the ground floor.
  • City of Perth Parking – Cultural Centre Car Park: This is an undercover car park with access from Roe St. There are four ACROD bays with two on each level.
  • Wilson Parking – 18 Roe St Car Park: This is an open-air car park with access from Roe St and James St. There is one ACROD bay.
  • City of Perth Parking – Roe Street Car Park: This is an undercover car park with access from Roe St. There are five ACROD bays.

ACCESSIBILITY

Please advise WASO’s Ticketing & Customer Service team if you have any specific access or mobility needs by emailing boxoffice@waso.com.au or calling 08 9326 0000.

Lift access is from the State Theatre Centre main foyer up to the Heath Ledger Theatre foyer (level 2). There is a separate lift that can then take patrons up to the upper stalls and circle. There are accessible toilets available on the main foyer level, Heath Ledger Theatre foyer level, upper stalls and circle.

Wheelchair seating – Stalls Row E, Stalls Row O and Circle Row G include designated wheelchair seats and are accessible by lift. All other rows are accessible by steps. The venue has two wheelchairs available on-site which can be requested for use prior to the performance. Please contact the venue directly if you would like a staff member to meet you at the entrance with a wheelchair on the night of your attendance. This can be booked by calling 08 6212 9200.

Accessible toilets are available on the main foyer level (in the Courtyard), Heath Ledger Theatre foyer level (closest for Stalls Row E), as well as the upper stalls (closest for Stalls Row O) and circle (closest for Circle Row G).

ACROD parking bays are located at all three City of Perth parking locations (see above) nearby and are subject to availability.

Assisted hearing system – The State Theatre Centre uses Listen Technologies RF Transmitters in both the Heath Ledger Theatre and Studio Underground. These devices can be used with headphones (provided or you can use your own) or by using a hearing aid with a T-Switch when headphones aren’t plugged into the lanyard. Patrons wanting to use this service should approach the Front of House Manager before the performance to collect a beltpack for use inside the venue. Please note, no mobile phone apps work with the State Theatre Centre system.

Companion cards are accepted for all WASO performances at Heath Ledger Theatre.

FOOD & BEVERAGES

Heath Ledger Theatre has a fully licenced bar that is open one hour prior to each performance and post-concert. The foyer bar offers small snacks along with drinks.

Drinks purchased at the theatre bar may be taken into the auditorium, excluding stemmed glassware, and hot drinks must have lids.

There are a wide range of dining options available nearby in the Northbridge area:

  • Chicho Gelato: A trendy gelateria offering inventive, small-batch gelato flavours crafted from premium local and seasonal ingredients. WASO Subscribers receive a free chocolate or whipped cream topping on presentation of their ticket.
  • BamBamBoo: A vibrant and casual Chinese eatery specializing in handmade dumplings, dim sum, and quick, authentic meals. WASO Subscribers receive 10% off their total bill on concert days with presentation of their ticket.
  • Shadow Wine Bar: A sleek, European-inspired wine bar and bistro serving refined dishes alongside a curated wine list in a moody, intimate space.
  • Lot Twenty: A vibrant small bar and restaurant offering a unique blend of delicious food, creative cocktails, and a relaxed yet lively atmosphere.
  • Bivouac Bar & Canteen: A stylish, contemporary bar offering creative Mediterranean share plates in a hip, minimalist venue adorned with local art.
  • TocToc Café: A cozy café serving delicious specialty drinks, fresh pastries, creative desserts and flavorful brunch options.

TICKETING

The venue box office is located in the main foyer of the State Theatre Centre. The box office will be open 90 minutes before each performance and closed during the interval and post-concert.
