Carmina burana has been repurposed, remixed and reworked by the best in the business for hundreds of films and TV commercials. Everyone knows it. However, there is nothing quite like the raw power of the original epic classic performed live. The wheel of fortune spins on the pleasures of lust and the perils of life in a collection of 24 medieval poems thrillingly sung by a combined UWA Symphonic and WASO Chorus.
For this COVID safe production, we are also implementing specific work practices for our orchestra and guest artists including the provision of physical distancing for the 90 singers of our combined chorus.
West Australian conductor Jessica Gethin makes her WASO debut in these Remixed Season opening concerts.
Seating allocations for this concert have been designed for physical distancing in accordance with current Government restrictions.
Wesfarmers Arts Pre-Concert Talk
Join us from 6:45pm - 7:10pm (4:15pm - 4:40pm on Sunday) at the Terrace Level Corner Stage for an illuminating pre-concert talk with Prue Ashurst. All concert-goers are welcome to attend the free pre-concert talk.
We will do everything in our power to present the remixed program listed but, as we all know, we may have to vary the repertoire or artists should Government guidelines or travel restrictions change. If that happens, we will let you know.
