Our Organisation

From concert halls to classrooms, hospitals to aged care, we bring joy, inspire learning, and nurture participation in our community, because everybody deserves the opportunity to experience live music. Every year, through community and leading industry partnerships, we engage a new generation of young and emerging artists to help secure a bright future for music in Australia.
WASO continues to focus on innovation and excellence for the arts throughout our community and through our Community Engagement and Education Program we currently reach close to 30,000 people each year. In its tenth year, our El Sistema-inspired Music Education Program, Crescendo, has been running in two Kwinana Primary Schools and is the only program of its kind in Western Australia.
The Sistema model, established in 1975 in Venezuela, seeks to empower children from disadvantaged backgrounds through classical music, using it as a tool to help them reach their full potential and learn life values. This life changing music education model is now running in over 55 countries around the world.
