We are delighted to announce the renewal of our Principal Partnership with Wesfarmers Arts. 2023 will mark 30 consecutive years of our partnership with a shared vision of enriching lives through music, making this the most enduring corporate partnership in WASO’s history.

The first connection between WASO and Wesfarmers Arts was made at the Orchestra’s inception in 1928 with concerts broadcast live across Western Australia on the then-fledgling Wesfarmers cooperative radio station, 6WF. Our formal ongoing partnership with Wesfarmers Arts was established in 1994, underpinning a dual commitment to mainstage artistic excellence and broad community engagement.

Wesfarmers Managing Director Rob Scott said, “Music can provide powerful social cohesion, and we are privileged to have a first-rate orchestra that contributes so much to the cultural life of our state. From thrilling symphonies at Perth Concert Hall to movies, musicals and performances in schools and communities across WA, we are proud to partner with WASO to bring the joy of music to West Australians each year.”

WASO Chairman Richard Goyder said, “We are grateful for our Principal Partnership with Wesfarmers Arts that underpins everything the Orchestra achieves on the mainstage and in the community. West Australians are incredibly fortunate to have a company like Wesfarmers providing business leadership in supporting organisations such as WASO for the benefit of our broader community. This partnership enables WASO to make great quality music accessible in Perth and right across the State.”

WASO and Wesfarmers have joined forces in recent years to also celebrate Perth Concert Hall as our home and a beacon of the arts in Western Australia. The iconic building now features curated works from The Wesfarmers Collection of Australian Art on display for Patrons and the public to enjoy over three levels with every visit.

WASO performs Britten’s War Requiem led by Asher Fisch on Friday 19 & Saturday 20 August and will announce its full 2023 Season on Wednesday 31 August.
