After their third concert of the week, four of our very dedicated musicians jumped off the stage and into their walking shoes for Up All Night.

Cerys Tooby (violin), Rebecca Glorie (violin) and Rachael Kirk (viola) all performed in the first weekend of the WASO 2021 season, playing Asher Fisch conducts Elgar and Romance and Mystery for three days of concerts. After their final performance on Saturday night, the trio, accompanied by casual WASO violinist and Rebecca’s sister Andrea Mendham, left the stage and headed straight for the event, commencing their walk.

The group were also joined by Perth Concert Hall Reception & Admin Assistant, Lorraine Tracey, for the final 12km.

The route circled the Swan River, with walkers journeying through Nedlands, Cottesloe, North Fremantle, Alfred Cove and Como before completing the circuit in the CBD.

In a phenomenal effort after five consecutive of both rehearsing and performing, the entire team completed the walk, with the final steps to cross the line taking place just after 7am.

“It was a huge sense of achievement, and quite emotional when we passed the pictures of the Ronald McDonald House children holding ‘thank you’ signs at the end” said the team.
