Strauss’ original tone poem Til Eulenspiegel requires an enormous orchestra of over 70 musicians. Hasenöhrl's arrangement manages to capture the chaos and comedy using only five instruments.

Adams composed Shaker Loops from fragments of a failed string quartet (Wavemaker), which in turn had sprouted from a piece for three violins.

Dvorak was struck with inspiration after hearing Mozart’s Gran Partita and wrote his serenade for Winds in just fourteen days.

Recorded live in concert at Government House Ballroom, Perth on the 22nd of September 2026 by ABC Classic. Producer Gavin Fernie, Engineer Richard Glover.
