
Nil Venditti

Recently praised by Scherzo for having “magnetism and charisma, but also an enormous authority that is well understood and respected”, Italian-Turkish conductor Nil Venditti is working with many notable orchestras and ensembles around the world, including the Royal Northern Sinfonia, of which she has been Principal Guest Conductor since the 2024/25 season.
Highlights of her 2026/27 season include return engagements with Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, as well as debuts with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Queensland Symphony Orchestra, among others. Recent collaborations include Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as multiple appearances at the BBC Proms and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
Venditti’s operatic engagements have expanded across Europe. She has conducted operas ranging from Così fan tutte to Peter Maxwell Davies’s The Lighthouse, as well as Macbeth for Longborough Festival Opera. In 2026/27, she conducts La Cenerentola for Opera Dijon and La bohème for Finnish National Opera.
She trained in conducting at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste under the guidance of Professor Johannes Schlaefli, and attended the Conducting Academy associated with the Pärnu Music Festival under Paavo Järvi, Neeme Järvi and Leonid Grin. In Italy, she graduated in cello performance under the tutelage of Francesco Pepicelli.
