WASO's Education Week+ will inspire, delight, inform and challenge audiences and participants across a range of musical performances.
In 2020 we are delighted to welcome back Education Artist in Residence, Paul Rissmann. We will present performances as part of our Community Outreach Program across Harmony Music, Hospital Orchestra Project and Music for the Ages, with public performances providing opportunities for music lovers of all ages to enjoy and participate in a variety of programs and venues in a week full of wonder.

Naked Classics - Fantastic Symphonies
Secrets, lies, love and obsession. For centuries, the symphony has been the ultimate canvas for composers to express their innermost thoughts and feelings at scale. Join presenter Paul Rissmann as he explores the motivation behind four landmark works, in a playlist that ranges from classical beauty to unadulterated horror.
Dreams of Air and Flight
A young boy, bewitched by his father's crazy brave ambition to fly, finds himself caught up in his dad’s fantasy. But when his father goes to war and does not return, it seems his spell may be broken, and all could be lost. Inspired by Grahame Baker-Smith’s poignant story FArTHER, this soaring concert for the whole family features music by Paul Rissmann set to stunning animations by Victor Craven in a concert program also featuring famed film composer John Williams.

Take your seat as a larger than life symphony orchestra with community musicians performing side-by-side with WASO musicians takes to the Perth Concert Hall stage!
