Irresistible melodies and a heartfelt ode
Young American violinist Benjamin Beilman has been described as “poised and monstrously talented” who plays with “rare insight and generosity”. For his WASO debut he performs Bruch’s ever-popular violin concerto, which is filled with rich harmonies, irresistible melodies and an exhilarating finale.
The concert continues with evocative symphonic paintings: Janáček’s Taras Bulba depicts the story of the 'free man' conceived in an adventurous 19th century novel, and Smetana’s heartfelt ode to his beloved Czech homeland will have you humming as you leave the Perth Concert Hall.
