Human Resources Manager

Lead people, culture and workplace strategy for Western Australia's State Orchestra.

Working directly with the CEO and Executive Management Team, you will help shape the workforce, culture and capability that underpin one of Western Australia's most respected cultural institutions.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Human Resources Manager is WASO's senior people and culture professional, principal adviser on workforce matters and a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and Executive Management Team.
You will partner closely with the Executive Management Team to lead and deliver:
Workforce planning and organisational development
Employee and industrial relations, including enterprise bargaining and agreement implementation
Performance and capability development
Recruitment and talent management
Workplace health, safety and wellbeing
Organisational culture, employee engagement and change leadership
Payroll governance and remuneration oversight
Policy, compliance and workforce governance
This is a highly visible role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on delivery in a collaborative, values-driven and purpose-led environment.
About You
You are a credible and trusted leader who can confidently advise executives, navigate complex employee and industrial relations matters, and build organisational capability. You thrive in complex workplace environments, enjoy solving challenging people issues and are passionate about creating high-performing and inclusive workplace cultures.
You bring:
Significant experience in a senior leadership role
Strong employee and industrial relations expertise
Experience working within enterprise agreement environments
Sound knowledge of employment and workplace legislation
Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills
A collaborative and relationship-focused approach
Excellent communication, judgment and problem-solving abilities
Demonstrated capability in managing workplace investigations, grievance resolution and performance matters
Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or a related discipline.
Experience within the arts, not-for-profit or member-based sectors will be highly regarded.
