The Role
Are you passionate about the arts and driven by purpose? The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is seeking a motivated and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join their high performing Development Team to lead the growth and management of WASO’s private giving programs—deepening relationships with current donors through meaningful stewardship, while cultivating new supporters to expand our vibrant giving community.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive income generation through WASO’s Planned Giving, Duet Program, and Community Engagement & Education Giving
- Steward existing donors and identify new prospects across all portfolios
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the Development team to deliver strategic fundraising initiatives
- Implement and manage campaigns across planned giving, annual appeals, and major gifts

Skills Required
To be successful you will need experience in a similar role and preferably an understanding of fundraising principles in a not-for-profit environment.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- High level interpersonal, communication and presentational skills and ability to engage and interact with donors and sponsors at all levels;
- Ability to inspire philanthropic giving, and a passion for the work that WASO does
- Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and manage a pressurised workload
- Research and analytical skills, thoroughness and exceptional attention to detail;
- IT literate with knowledge of relationship/CRM databases and current regulatory and best practice frameworks. Specific knowledge of the Tessitura database would be preferential but not essential
