Rachmaninov was obsessed with fate, and his First Symphony explores this idea through many moments of struggle, darkness, menace and drama. Esteemed Conductor Laureate Vladimir Verbitsky leads WASO in this emotional musical journey.

This beautiful program features a jazz-influenced concerto and an exquisite symphony. Outstanding French pianist Cédric Tiberghien returns to perform Ravel’s sparkling concerto, and we welcome back Tadaaki Otaka to conduct Mendelssohn’s sublime Italian Symphony.
