The Orchestral Training Program (OTP) allows tertiary instrumentalists to join the Orchestra in rehearsal for selected Masters and Classcis concerts, as well as other special events such as Chamber, Community Engagement and Education concerts.
Participants observe guest conductors and soloists in rehearsal while sitting beside musicians on stage at the Perth Concert Hall, receive one-on-one tuition with the musicians and undertake a mock audition under the same conditions as a prospective casual member of the orchestra.
Participants also take part in seminars and Q&A sessions to learn more about WASO’s administration and other aspects of the music profession.
This program is designed to help bridge the gap from a music graduate to professional orchestral musician.
Friday 29 June: Applications close
September – October: Rehearsals, seminars, private lessons and mock auditions
Participants will be notified of the outcome of their application at least 4 weeks before the commencement of the program.
