The West Australian Symphony Orchestra is a full-time ensemble of 82 musicians based in Perth, Western Australia. As the state's premier arts company the orchestra performs its major concerts in the exceptional acoustic of the Perth Concert Hall. The orchestra also performs with the West Australian Ballet and Opera companies and has highly developed educational, regional, talent development and audience development programs.

THE ROLE
This role reports to the Executive Manager of Business Services and works closely with Managers across marketing, philanthropy and box office. In this role you will be responsible for the integrity, analysis and development of our SQL-based Tessitura database, to ensure a responsive CRM tool that grows our patronage and yield.
Our Tessitura CRM is in a youthful, post-implementation stage at WASO and requires an ambitious, creative and motivated person to drive and manage its full integration in to our business.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Marketing and working closely with the Marketing Coordinator and Digital Marketing Coordinator, you will be responsible for the management of your own design projects, both print and digital, from the initial brief through to final completion. You will design and produce all of WASO’s creative content. Attention to detail, diligence and the ability to work to strict deadlines are essential.
CORE COMPETENCIES AND SELECTION CRITERIA:
a) Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Creative and innovative in design approach
• Highly computer literate with significant skill using Adobe Creative Suite, Mac OS and Mac applications, and particular proficiency in InDesign
• Understanding of pre-press requirements and the importance of file preparation
• Ability to write and interpret a design brief
b) Knowledge
• Qualifications in graphic design related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
(minimum 5 years experience in a hands-on design role is desirable)
• Sound understanding of managing brands and marketing collateral for design consistency and strength
• Understanding of pre-press processes for development of all collateral, including large format graphics and signage and current photographic techniques
• Demonstrated experience in print management
• Understanding of how graphic design fits with an integrated marketing communication strategy
c) Attributes
• Self sufficient with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• Able to work autonomously and as part of a small team to strict deadlines
• Open and easy communicator with strong listening skills
• Willingness to work outside normal business hours during peak periods to meet project deadlines
• Interest in orchestral/symphonic music and/or performing arts is desirable
